The actresses at Cannes put on quite a show at this year's 65th annual Cannes Film Festival. From the Photo calls to the parties and on to the Red Carpet, we couldn't get enough! Here are some of Oscar & Wild's Cannes favourites

Iran has had a great influence over Oscar & Wild's aesthetic, being the heritage of our founder and director Paloma Hatami. Our stores architectural interiors draw from the Mushrubia patterns (a repeated geometric pattern) commonly seen in Middle Eastern countries including Iran. We found these amazing photos from a Vogue shoot in 1969 in some of the most beautiful cities in Iran. The mirrored interiors seen in some of these images are hundreds of years old have heavily influenced current trends in modern architecture. Before the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran (Persia as some know it) there was no requirement for women to wear the Hijab. Hence these photos are quite nostalgic in the locations, fashion and the era that once was. One of the photos is of the empress of Iran, Farah Diba Pahlavi who was the beacon of style and elegance around the World. We absolutely love the jacket she is photographed in, which could be from Valentino (one of her favourite designers). The style of the Jacket is what has become the latest trend in Aztec and embroided colourful patterns. The other photos are from a series of locations in Shiraz (South of Iran where the Shiraz grape comes from), and Isfehan (arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the World). If you are adventurous, visit Iran. The natural, serene and beautiful wonders of the country side and old historic relics, some of them dating back to 5000 years ago, make the experience worthwhile. 

This season metallics have come back in a big way. Be it a metallic jacket, tote, skirt or pants- don't be afraid to make a statement! Oscar & Wild is right on trend with metallic pieces in store and online!

As a non-drug therapy, massage holds the potential to help not just bone-weary athletes but those with inflammation-related chronic conditions, such as arthritis or muscular dystrophy, said lead researcher Justin Crane in a study that investigated the effects of massage on inflammation. While massage is well accepted as a therapy for relieving muscle tension and pain, the researchers delved deeper to find it also triggers biochemical sensors that can send inflammation-reducing signals to muscle cells. In addition, massage signals muscle to build more mitochondria, the power centres of cells which play an important role in healing and metabolism. However the research proved one oft-repeated idea false: massage did not help clear lactic acid from tired muscles.

This winter season the Poncho is the must have piece. Not only are they warm but utterly chic. The poncho may only be one sheet of fabric but it can be worn an interpreted in so many ways, whether they are minimalist or blanket like. For those who aren't so convinced the Poncho comes with a few pro's; It transforms your look to uber chic in a second, most styles are longer so you can't tell what's going on underneath (hello lazy Sundays!) and since it can be tricky to wear an over the shoulder bag with this style, it's a fabulous excuse to wear a clutch which is always good for the back! It’s official, the leather jean is here to stay! Much like the beloved skinny jeans which many considered to be a trend or fad, these babies are proving to be in it for the long haul. Resveratrol, a polyphenol compound found in red wine, has been touted as a genuine anti-aging treatment. A comprehensive review of human clinical research on resveratrol has found it has "anti-aging, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties," but more research of its benefits is needed, the lead researcher, Dr Heather Hausenblas said. Various studies indicate that this polyphenol -- an antibiotic substance produced by plants as a defense against microorganisms -- prevents the growth of some cancers in mice, inhibits enzymes that cause inflammation, shrinks tumors and increases blood flow, thus reducing cardiovascular diseases. In many cases, it also extends the life of obese animals. 

Stacking bracelets in art-form, one that takes time to perfect. The stack must not be too heavy or too light, it must have colours that complement each other not clash, it needs a mix of textures and the right amount of chunky and delicate pieces. A new study is shedding light on the interaction between aging and cancer. In normal aging, DNA is damaged over time and the body begins to deteriorate because of oxidative stress. "We all slowly rust, like the Tin-man in the Wizard of Oz," head researcher Dr. Michael Lisanti said. "And there is a very similar process going on in the tumor's local environment." The researchers found that cancer induces oxidation, the "rusting" process, in normal surrounding tissue, in order to extract vital nutrients using a lactic acid "shuttle". Dr Lisanti said that antioxidant therapy can "cut off the fuel supply for cancer cells."

A new study monitored two groups of women in the same weight loss program. One group met weekly at a university and the other group met in a church. After 13 weeks, they found that the women meeting in the church setting lost a greater percentage of weight than those who met at the university. Additionally, those women who set out to change their eating and exercise practices for the first time lost a greater percentage of weight than women who had experience managing their weight. It appears that women with weight-loss experience may find it more difficult to lose weight when starting a new program because they are less likely to seek and accept social support for their efforts and are unable to shake the bad habits that they have learned in past weight-loss programs. Furthermore, they explained that churches are familiar environments that are conducive to lending encouragement and support.

According to a new study published online in the journal Obesity, teammates in a team-based weight loss competition significantly influenced each other's weight loss, suggesting that shedding pounds can have a ripple effect. Researchers from The Miriam Hospital's Weight Control found that team members not only achieved similar weight loss outcomes, but participants who said their teammates played a large role in their weight loss actually lost the most weight. The lead researcher, Dr Tricia Leahey said, "We're all influenced by the people around us, so if we can harness this positive peer pressure and these positive social influences, we can create a social environment to help encourage additional weight loss."
