Whilst some have deemed Angelina Jolie's red carpet ensembles safe and predictable, we could not disagree more. Ange looks elegant and demure with a hint of sex appeal, the perfect red carpet recipe.

It has long been thought that acupuncture can reduce stress, but this is the first study to show molecular proof of this benefit," said lead researcher, Dr Ladan Eshkevari. While traditional Chinese acupuncture has been thought to relieve stress -- in fact, the World Health Organization states that acupuncture is useful as adjunct therapy in more than 50 disorders, including chronic stress -- Eshkevari said that no one has biological proof that it does so. So she designed a study to test the effect of acupuncture on blood levels of neuropeptide Y (NPY), a hormone that is secreted by the sympathetic nervous system in rodents and humans in response to stress. In the first study of its kind she showed that acupuncture spot ST36 induced a lowering of NPY stress hormone.

Raf Simmons debuted his collection for the French Fashion House of Christian Dior some three weeks ago and the collection has already made it's debut on the red carpet by none other than Marion Cotillard. The two are an ideal pairing, Marion is an official face of Dior and a French  style icon.

The Melbourne Art Fair is an exhibition of leading contemporary art, where 900 artists represented by national and international galleries from countries such as New Zealand, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Canada, America and Europe showcase their work. The biennial event features paintings, sculpture, photography, installation and multi media art works from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond. The exhibition attracts up to 30,000 visitors who will experience works from a new generation of exciting emerging artists. The exhibition will be held at the Royal Exhibition Building from 1-5 August and is is sure to quench your cultural thirst.

Back in the 1970's, a young man named Dick Hayne planted a seed in the maze of streets and trees that make up West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He opened a store and called it Free People. Free People nurtured the young people who lived there and shopped there, who looked for a little of their own freedom in the clothes they wore.

As Dick's store grew from one to two, the name was changed from Free People to Urban Outfitters.

In time, his wife Meg came on to tend Urban's private label division, which supported product exclusive to Urban Outfitters. Demand was almost immediate and to meet this overwhelming need, she and Dick decided to create a wholesale line. It was very well-received, so much so that Dick separated the businesses. For a while, the wholesale line took on many personalities: Bulldog, Ecote, Cooperative, Anthropologie, and then in 1984 a new life was breathed into the name Free People and this is the brand that stands today.

As if there wasn’t enough reason to travel to Paris, revered fashion house Chloe is celebrating their 60 years of contribution to the Fashion Industry. To mark the occasion the fashion house is exhibiting Iconic works and images detailing their six decades of dressing the “Modern Woman” at Le Palais de Tokyo. The exhibition is titled ‘Chloé. Attitudes’ and will be on display from September 29 to November 18. For those not fortunate enough to make the exhibition, 16 Iconic pieces will be displayed in Chloe boutiques worldwide including Stella’s pineapple tee and Lagerfeld’s Violin Dress. The online version of the exhibition will launch in October of this year but until then, here’s a little preview..

They say you shouldn’t judge a person until you’ve walked in their shoes but apparently you can judge them just by looking at them! Psychologists from the University of Kansas conducted a study that determined people’s ability to correctly guess a shoe owner's political, emotional, and personality traits by looking at their footwear. According to the reports, students shown a picture of shoes could guess 90% of the owners characteristics. "Shoes serve a practical purpose, and also serve as nonverbal cues with symbolic messages. People tend to pay attention to the shoes they and others wear," the researchers wrote.
